Website Monitoring
Know the moment a site goes down, and hear about it wherever your team already is.
- Checked every minute, or every 5 on the free plan
- From 7 locations on 4 continents
- Alerts by email, Slack, webhook and SMS
Every site, and how each one is doing
- 1
See what's down right now
Every site's status, uptime and response time in one list.
- 2
See every outage
Each monitor's history, with every outage and how long it lasted.
- 3
Fix it before anyone notices
An alert on the first failed check you chose to care about, and another when it's back.
Checked from around the world
Your customers aren't all in one place, so neither are Mon's checks. A site that's down for one part of the world is down.
7 locations, 4 continents
North and South America, Europe and Asia, so an outage in one region doesn't go unseen in another.
Placed for you, or by you
Mon spreads each monitor's checks itself, or you choose the locations it checks from.
Addresses you can allowlist
Every location's IP addresses are published in your account, ready for your firewall.
Uptime, and everything around it
Knowing a site is down is the start. Mon also tells you why, how slow it's getting, and keeps your users informed.
Hear about it first
When a site stops answering, Mon tells you straight away - and again when it's back up - wherever your team will see it.
- By email, in Slack or to your own webhook
- SMS on paid plans
- Alerted only after the failed checks in a row you chose, so a blip stays quiet
- Repeated as often as you choose
Slow is the new down
Every check records how long your site took to answer, so a slowdown shows up on the chart before it shows up in your sales.
- Average, fastest and slowest at a glance
- Each check listed, with the status code it got
- A weekly report covering every monitor
More than a 200
Send the request your site or API actually expects, and decide for yourself what counts as up.
- Any method, with a body
- A keyword that must - or must not - be on the page
- SSL certificate warnings 30, 15, 7 and 1 day ahead
- Custom headers, basic authentication and your own up status codes on paid plans
Keep your users in the loop
A public status page shows how each part of your service is doing, and maintenance windows keep planned work from counting against you.
- Status pages for the monitors you choose
- Each part's recent history, bar by bar
- Maintenance windows for planned downtime
Add a hundred in one go
Paste a list of URLs - one per line, or straight from a spreadsheet - and get a monitor for each, all with the same checks and alerts.
- Named after each URL's host and path
- Sites you already watch are skipped
- https:// added where it's missing
Works with the tools you already use
On Enterprise plans, connect your registrar or DNS host once and Mon imports every domain it finds, picking up new ones as you buy them. On every plan, hear about them where your team already talks.

Frequently asked questions
Everything about keeping an eye on your websites.
What is website monitoring?
It is a service that visits your website on a schedule, from outside your own network, and tells you as soon as it stops answering properly - so you hear about an outage before your customers do. Mon also records how long each visit took, so you can see a site slowing down as well as going down.
Is website monitoring free?
Yes. Mon's free plan includes 5 monitors checked every 5 minutes, 2 contacts, 2 status pages and 2 maintenance windows. Paid plans start at 10 monitors and check as often as every minute.
How often are my websites checked?
Every minute on any paid plan, and every 5 minutes on the free plan. You can choose a longer interval for any monitor.
Where are the checks made from?
From 7 locations: Virginia, New York, Dallas, California, São Paulo, Frankfurt and Singapore. Mon places each monitor's checks for you, or you can choose the locations yourself.
What counts as down?
A check fails when the site doesn't answer within the timeout, answers with a status code you haven't counted as up, or is missing a keyword you asked for. You choose how many failed checks in a row it takes before each contact is alerted, so a single blip doesn't wake anyone.
How will I be alerted?
By email, in a Slack channel or with a request to your own webhook, and by SMS on paid plans. Each contact chooses what it hears about: a monitor going down, coming back up, an SSL certificate nearing expiry, and a weekly report.
Can I monitor an API, not just a web page?
Yes. A monitor can send any HTTP method with a body, and check the response for the text you expect. On paid plans it can also send its own headers, sign in with basic authentication and count the status codes you choose as up.
Does Mon watch my SSL certificate too?
Yes, on every plan. Turn on SSL monitoring for a website monitor, or add an SSL monitor for any server, and Mon warns you 30, 15, 7 or 1 day before the certificate expires.
Does monitoring affect my website statistics?
Not in JavaScript-based analytics such as Google Analytics: Mon's checks don't run JavaScript, so they are never counted as visits. They do appear in your web server's own logs, like any other request.
My firewall only lets known addresses in. What do I allow?
Mon publishes the IP addresses of every location it checks from. Find them under Locations in your account, and add them to your allowlist.
Can I add all my websites at once?
Yes. Paste a list of URLs - one per line, or straight from a spreadsheet - and Mon adds a monitor for each, named after its host and path, skipping any you already watch.
